Arthritic fingers which were painful became useable after using EFT.

George stopped by our home recently to say hello and when I went to shake his hand, he pulled it away saying it was too painful. I immediately offered to help him with his hand. He said it was so painful to use his fingers (which he couldn’t put together with his thumb on each hand) to the point that he actually couldn’t pull up his pants as he put them on in the morning.

After about 30 minutes of working on one hand with EFT, he had gone from a 9-10 down to a zero. We then turned to the other hand and it also went down to a zero in about 20 minutes. He was astonished and grateful.

Man who was almost cheating on his wife had a lot of guilt.

A gentleman sought help with a recurring problem of going to massage parlors seeking illicit sex and he was feeling very guilty about it. After working on him just twice over a six month period, it was discovered that the real problem was one of his abandonment at an early age (under three) and in reality, he didn’t want to commit to any loving relationship because of his underlying fear of being abandoned if he truly committed his love to his wife. This all came out during his feedback while being worked on using EFT and gave him a much greater sense of peace and serenity about his prior urges to seek out illicit sex. He no longer felt the strong need to seek out such illicit sexual contact since he now found that it was “empty” feeling for him.

Young woman experiencing grief at the loss of a grandparent from cancer actually was concerned about her mother and herself.

A young woman presented with unresolved grief for her grandmother after her death due to a particular type of cancer that may be genetically transferred. We started off with her grief due to the loss of her grandmother and it quickly turned into an issue of being concerned about her mother’s unresolved feelings of loss that were adversely affecting her. The issue then turned further into an inherent fear of her own about the potential for succumbing to the same type of cancer in the future due to the genetic predisposition she may have as a result of being her granddaughter. She went from a 9 SUDS down to a zero and then immediately jumped to the new issue at an 8 and then it too became a zero. She then jumped to a different issue altogether which she was either unable or unwilling to describe. We then worked on that issue without defining it with words and afterward she felt much better even though she never knew exactly what the other issue was all about.

While trying to enter a cold water lake, tapping relieved the anticipation and fear of not being able to breath while in the water.

While trying to enter the cold water of the lake on which we have a cottage, I became concerned about my lungs “locking up” when I entered the water. It had happened before to me years earlier and it is a very frightening experience. Since I was going into a lake that had no life guard or any one else around, I was even more concerned because there would be nobody around to help me if such an event occurred. As I continued to put more and more of my body into the water, my anxiety became greater and greater. So I started to tap on all of the access points on my body and particularly on my collar bone points while focusing on the fear of not being able to breathe once I fully entered the water. As a result, I had no trouble once I fully entered the water and the entire experience turned into a positive one. I had not difficulty breathing and my lungs never “locked up” at all.

Angie: Resolved post-operative feeling in her chest that she was going to constantly vomit or have a heart attack.

In this case, a friend had undergone general surgery in which she had been given a breathing tube through which to breath during the operation. After she emerged from surgery and gone home, she discovered that she was suffering from the feeling that she was either having a heart attack or was always feeling nauseous and at times was vomiting.

After a short interview we immediately "tapped" on her simply for "this nauseous feeling" and "this pain in my chest/throat" and went through the normal sequence of points. Her SUDS when we started was a "10" because she had just vomited minutes before the treatment and within one round it was down to a "1-2". We then "tapped" her 9-gamut point on the back of her hand and did a floor to ceiling eye maneuver and the remaining "1-2" disappeared completely. This was all done in the middle of a New Year's Eve party with people running around drinking, dancing and yelling, but it had no effect upon her except to focus her on what we were doing. Moments later, the pain came back to about a "3-5" and we again did a single short cut round and it was gone for good and never returned. That was 20 months ago and it has never returned.

Margaret: Resolved a daughter's grief over her mother's amputation. Then resolved a daughter's guilt over not feeling grief in mother's company.

When this woman joined our group "tapping" sessions, she came just for one hour at a time and then had to leave due to family commitment. However, when she came in beside herself one evening, we asked what was going on in her life. She responded that her mother had recently suffered an amputation of one of her legs and she was very upset about it and as a result she was very upset as well. She didn't know what to do. So, we "tapped" on the subject just as it sounded. We said "even though my mother has lost her leg and I feel so badly about it, I deeply and completely accept myself". We then did a complete round on it and the other people in the group tapped on the issue as well even though their families had not suffered such an amputation. When we checked with everyone, they all told us that they felt better but didn't know exactly why. But they did feel more relaxed and generally better.

We went through a number of rounds on this issue until her SUDS was "0" and then other issues arose including her feeling that she was left all alone by her other siblings to deal with her mother when she had 3-4 other siblings. She felt resentful and angry at them for leaving her to do it all alone and then she noticed that she was angry at her mother who was not very appreciative or nice to her whenever she visited. We again "tapped" on those issues as well and they all disintegrated almost immediately. She felt much better.

The irony of the situation was that on the next group "tap" she appeared and again was upset. When asked what was wrong, she responded that she now felt "guilty" that she had no emotions about her mother's amputation any longer and this was making her feel "guilty". It also came to light that her mother was helping her along in these feelings because she was no longer crying and sympathizing as she initially had done with her. Again, we "tapped" on the issue of not having any "sympathy" and that she was "guilty" and the feelings within her subsided markedly. She left that evening with a sense that her mother's guilt did not have to affect her any longer and that she was the one sibling who was still in the picture taking care of her mother and that she was proud of herself.

Brett: Resolved a son's grief over loss of mother and specific memory of spreading her ashes that usually caused a great deal of emotional turmoil and stress.

This man was in his late 50's and had been the primary care taker for his mother for number of years before her final demise. He was very close to her and was very disturbed by her passing. When he recounted spreading her ashes he became noticeably upset and disturbed. He was asked if he wanted to address the situation and finish his grieving and replied that he would like that . Within 10 minutes of "tapping" on his issues of grief he was over it. He suffered no excessive emotionalism and shed no tears during the process. He was comfortable and felt relieved at the conclusion of the technique. He had been at a "8-9" when we started and was a "0" when we finished. The feelings of grief have not returned.

Linda: Resolved a woman's fear and anguish over being sexually abused during childhood and who had hidden her shame and guilt for decades.

Linda was a participant in a stress workshop and was asked if she would become a subject for demonstration of the technique in front of the class. She agreed and as we were dealing with simple stress of being in front of a small group of people, she said something to the effect that "she could never talk about that" and became immediately emotional. We segregated her and finished the class while another instructor continued to work with her. It turned out that she had suffered sexual abuse as a youngster and had been convinced that it had all been her fault so she kept it a secret all these 40 years.

We "tapped" on the issue of "even though I have felt like a victim all these years, I haven't said anything to anybody because I was afraid that I was at fault" and "even though I have felt guilty all these years I deeply and completely accept myself" and then used various aspects of these thoughts to complete the process. Within 30 minutes the entire situation had been neutralized.

Kate: When Kate first came to us she had suffered for years with general anxiety from going outside to driving her car. However, the thing that brought her to us was her desire to travel a seminar out of state by airplane and her extreme fear of flying that was causing her a great deal of anxiety.

We worked with Kate on the issues of fear of flying including the fear of entering the airplane, being seated in a closed in space, to "white-knuckling" it when the plane took off and landed. After about 15 minutes of tapping, she went from a 9-10 SUDS to a zero. At that time we tested her by having her visualize the trip that she wanted to take and she immediately regressed right back to her original strategy of staying outside the airplane until the very last moment and then took her seat as the plane was departing the terminal. This alerted us that although she was a zero theoretically, she was still "stuck" in her old paradigm of fear.

We then recommenced tapping again and after an additional 15 minutes, she was able to see herself entering the plane along with everyone else, taking her seat and being comfortable while seated. We then went on through take-off and landing and tapped any remaining anxiety that appeared. By the time an hour was over she was completely free of her fear of flying. She later reported back to us that she had done great on both trips and has since made numerous other trips by air in complete comfort.

Interestingly, many of her other fears also lessened noticeably as well.

Couple therapy: We met with a couple on a limited number of occasions who were having some deep problems within their marriage. During the meetings we utilized both EFT and hypnosis to expose and address various problems that were far more deep seated than simply disagreements.

The interesting aspect of this couple was that each fulfilled the other's needs regarding their neediness for love within their relationship. The wife had very low self esteem and could not accept or receive a compliment from her husband. On the other hand, the husband felt rebuffed and rejected by the wife every time he tried to give her a compliment. The interesting aspect of this was that each of them was reliving their childhood with one of their parents. In this case, the wife's father had been very violent and controlling and never allowed and resolved many of their differences. Also, did age regression to childhood to clear up an old lie which helped one party start to resolve his deep seated anger and resentment against his mother.

Bill: Man at his wedding had his knee give out during a strenuous dance. Immediately eliminated the pain and he went back to dancing the rest of his wedding day.

Bill is a man in his mid 50's who while at his wedding was dancing the entire day. During an especially taxing dance, his knee "went out" or "locked up" on him and he was unable to continue. He hobbled over to our table because he knew of our ability to relieve pain and asked for an immediate treatment. We did so by simply tapping of "even though I have this pain in my knee" and within 3 minutes it was gone. He went back to dancing the rest of the afternoon without pain.

Tom: Tom visited our office and complained of "gout" in his feet
.

When asked to quantify it, he said it was a "seven". We immediately began to tap on the issue of this pain in my feet and this gout in my feet and within the first round of tapping it had dissipated completely.

Sandy: Sandy came to our office to watch her friend learn the EFT technique and after awhile mentioned that she suffered from limited range of motion in her neck as a result of a traffic accident five years earlier.

We tapped on the issue of "this lack of movement in my neck" and " I can't move my neck" and while pushing the head to its limit left and right simply tapping all the points on the face. Before 20 minutes had elapsed, the woman's range of motion had been extended substantially to the point that she could look all the way to each side and use her peripheral vision to look behind herself. We've since checked with her six months later and her range of motion has remained intact. It was interesting to note that her life before this healing had taken an extremely bad redirection due to her neck problem. She reported on the first session that she was unable to sleep more than an hour or two before the session and that she had been forced to change her employment due to her physical handicap.

Sam: Sam came to our office to talk about something entirely different than healing
.

He came to talk about a relative who was in jail and wasn't doing well while there. Apparently, just visiting the relative in jail had been a jarring experience for Sam because after speaking about it, he immediately went to excuse himself to go outside to "have a smoke." Instead, he was asked to remain and allow some "tapping" on him to be done and if he still wanted to smoke then he could do so and return later. He allowed the "tapping" and when asked if he wanted to smoke the cigarette, he immediately said no, he would rather stay. But then he noticed that he was feeling all "tingly" on his arms and legs and asked if we could do it again. He also noticed that he became very relaxed and comfortable.

Cody: Our son Cody, age 8, ad his finger squashed in a door.

Cody was standing in an open doorway leaning up against the door jam with his hand and unbeknownst to him, the wind caught the door and slammed it on his fingers catching them in between the door and the jam. Anyone who has ever had such an experience knows just how painful that can be as Cody found out that day.
He immediately hit the floor screaming at the top of his lungs and crying wildly. Maria and I ran to him and she immediately started comforting him while I busied myself tapping him in all the appropriate places. To all of our surprise Cody stopped crying and almost immediately went to laughing loudly. All this took was about 20-30 seconds although it felt like an eternity until it was over.

Cody: Cody sleeps on a different level of the house in which we live than the rest of us and this led him to have fears of "monsters" to the point that he wouldn't go downstairs to his room without someone going with him. He also didn't like to fall asleep at night for fear he might miss something.

So, Maria started "tapping" him on his fears about monsters and that soon was eliminated. Then she started simply rubbing his forehead before he fell asleep and then once he was used to the touching of his forehead, she started "tapping" his forehead and other points while gently saying "even though I don't want to go to sleep because I might miss something" and "even though I don't want to go to sleep right now" and it works every time to put him to sleep in short order.

Christine: Eliminated panic attacks suffered at all hours of the night.

Christine had panic attacks at all hours of the night and usually called Maria whenever it happened for comfort. After a number of these calls, we finally went over to her home at 3 A.M. and found the EMS workers taking her pulse and other data and they finally said she was okay and not suffering a heart attack. We then went to work on her with EFT and within 10-15 minutes her attack had subsided. After that Maria taught her EFT and she is now able to "head off" the attacks when they first start to occur. As a result, Christine has been "panic attack" free for the last year and informed us that she now feels more in control of her life.

Gloria: Substantially extended range of motion for woman's arm that had been restricted for years due to stress.

Gloria had an extremely limited range of motion in her left arm when Maria started to speak with her about it. She explained that she was under a great deal of stress due to her work and whenever the stress increased, her range of motion decreased markedly. As a result, Maria tapped on her using the words "even though I have all this stress and my arm is restricted as a result, I deeply and completely love and accept myself". Her range of motion significantly increased in less than 30 minutes and has remained better regardless of the stress in her life.

Randi: Dramatically lessened chemical sensitivity in a woman who had been imprisoned in her home for four years due to her broad range of sensitivities.

Randi had been restricted to living in her home for most of the previous four years due to her sensitivity to a broad range of allergens ranging from new carpeting, paint, deodorant, cologne, smoke and much, much more. As a result, she was rather unhappy, frustrated and angry at anyone who wore those items whether they knew she was going to be in their company or not. After three treatments, her "broad range" of allergens had reduced itself amazingly to only a few of the harshest items. Her mood had elevated and she felt much better about herself and everyone around her.

Jean: Eliminated arthritis in elderly woman's rib area and gave immediate relief for arthritic hands.

Jean was in her late 70's when rheumatoid arthritis made her life a living hell. Her hands and feet became terribly painful and distorted and she was unable to use her hands to sew or play bridge as she used to enjoy so much. Undaunted, she invented new ways to hold her cards using different items she found or invented and went on anyway, but eventually, she still succumbed to the rigors of arthritic pain and became bed ridden.

Still undaunted she carried on and whenever I could work with her I did so. Her arthritic hands were able to be loosened up using EFT and the words "even though my hands are so stiff" and "even though my hands won't work" and "even though my hands won't do what I want them to do". Usually when we started, her hands were at an 8 or a 9 on the SUDS scale. We would not give up until we were down to a 1-2.

Then, her rib on her right side became painful as well. Only this time it was a 10. She often cried when I saw her. But we worked about 15-25 minutes at a time until the pain would subside somewhat. This went on for about 2-3 weeks until one night after about 15 minutes of working on her rib, the pain completely subsided. It never returned and she was very happy for that.
Jean was my mother.

Children: While on a school trip, eliminated motion sickness while on school bus trip.

When Cody and Maria took a school trip to the Botanical Gardens, many of the children were becoming car sick from the long ride. Like a miniature medic, Cody traveled around the inside of the bus "referring" children to Maria who sat on one end of the bus working on each child as they approached her. Each of their symptoms dissipated quickly and easily after being worked on for only a few minutes. Only one child returned for a "second helping" and that was the last she saw of her during the drive.

Claire: Eliminated fear of going out at night for fear of being attacked.

Claire had a deep fear of going outside at night because she thought that she would be attacked and raped or killed if someone caught her. So, much of her life was restricted to moving about outside during the day and staying home at night. However, Claire became a willing example of EFT at one of our seminars and went from a 10 down to a 0 inside of 10 minutes.

She reported back to the host of the seminar that she no longer has any problem leaving her home at night and has far fewer fears than she used to have before the treatment.

NOTIFICATION AND WAIVER

While we believe that EFT works well with many symptoms, it is still theoretical in nature and there is no universally accepted scientific explanation for its efficacy or lack thereof.

Ted and Maria Robinson have both taken numerous educational courses on Hypnotism and are both certified Hypnotists by the National Guild of Hypnotists and other organizations. While they have also taken a number of courses on EFT, neither of them are credentialed or licenced therapists or health care professionals in that area. It should be noted that there are no credentials available in EFT at the present time as it is still in the developmental stages.

We do not offer any medical or psychological care or advice other than to advise all clients that they are always ultimately responsible for their own health care and if they want medical, psychological or psychiatric care or advice, they should see a medical or mental health care professional.

We also always advise every client to obtain a waiver or referral from their primary care doctor or other medical professional or their mental health care professional before utilizing EFT or Hypnosis. Certainly each client should not discontinue or modify any medication presently being taken pursuant to medical advice without obtaining medical approval.
In the event that a client fails to obtain a medical referral prior to treatment, they assume all risk and responsibility for any adverse outcome that might result from using EFT or Hypnosis.

The Center for Hypnotherapy and Emotional Freedom Technique assumes no liability to any client or third party for any damages or injury which may result from any treatment that has been rendered in good faith in either discipline.
