HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
HAPPY CHANUKAH!!!
HAPPY KWANZAA!!! This is our last newsletter of the year and we first want to remind you of our December 22nd evening workshop at the Center for Inner Healing. As we’ve said before, we know many of you are still busily scurrying about trying to tie up all the loose ends before the Christmas holiday and those of you who celebrated Chanukah are more than likely tired. But we strongly believe that this is the perfect time to join us and work out some of those issues surrounding the holidays so that the rest of the year will be more enjoyable. Many people find the holiday season stressful because of conflicts with their families. But now they either must be with their families for the holidays or at least must think about them. As a result, a lot of unresolved issues surface that many would rather leave locked up. We know how you feel and we have the solution.
That’s what Emotional Freedom Technique is all about. It takes whatever's ailing you and turns it around in short order - permanently! We know, that sounds like a tall order, and it is, but we also know it works exactly like that.
So, come on down to our Center at 175 W. Old Country Road, in Hicksville on Dec.22nd at 7:00 P.M. and join us for an evening of healing together. The session is FREE if you bring along a wrapped present for a child. Otherwise, it costs $25.00. The workshop will last 2 hours or more and we guarantee it will be worth your time. Holiday snacks will be served. WORLD HYPNOSIS DAY January 4, 2005 has been dedicated as World Hypnosis Day by a number of world wide Hypnosis groups. As a result, there will be world wide celebrations of hypnosis by hypnotists. Since we are part of that group, we will also be holding TWO FREE Hypnosis stress reduction meditations on January 4th. The first will be held at Noon at the Center for Inner Healing and is FREE to all that attend. Maria Robinson will be conducting the session and will provide you with all the details when you arrive. If you have questions, you can call her at 631-826-2001.
The second event of Hypnosis Day will be held at 7:00 P.M. at the Center for Inner Healing and will be conducted by Ted Robinson. It will include the use of Emotional Freedom Technique and Hypnotism and again it is FREE to all who attend. Invite your family members, friends and neighbors to attend with you so that we have a big turnout. Please remember, space is limited, so first come first served. However, if we have too many to handle at one time, we will add additional sessions so that everyone gets an opportunity to experience hypnosis on World Hypnosis Day. See you there! TIPS ON THE BENEFITS OF GINGER
If you feel a cold or chill coming on, a great way to warm up is with a cup of fresh ginger tea. It's very refreshing and will “take the chill off”. To make it, simply boil water and pour it over either a ½ teaspoon of finely shredded fresh ginger or 2-3 fine slices of fresh ginger. Let it steep for 5 minutes, and a little honey and serve hot. Voila!! The chill is on the run in no time.
Fresh ginger is great for relieving nausea, morning sickness, menstrual cramps, bronchitis, aches and spasms, and may reduce inflammatory arthritis and lupus. It is also used to break down high protein in foods such as meats and beans and lessen the adverse effects of uric acid in the body which are produced by meats.
A simple way of reducing infection and inflammation is to juice 3 fresh slices of pineapple together with a 1" slice of ginger into a drink, with some crushed ice to cool it if you like, and drink it down 2-3 times each day. It is also great to add ginger to soups. It adds a spicy flavor and depth to the overall consistency of the dish and also gives you the benefits described above. Dried ginger can be substituted for any of the teas or other recipes above, but it is always better to use fresh if you can find it.
A recent study also found that ginger was as effective as Dramamine in preventing motion sickness without the drowsiness. We’ll add more information and recipes for you in future newsletters, but in the meanwhile, try it, you’ll like it. WATCH FOR A TALK BY WALTER BELLING Many of you already know about Walter. He is a gifted speaker who provides information about many topics. During his talks he creates a “safe place” where people join him in connecting to the calm of the Universe. He has spoken at our Center before and was so well received that we asked him back to share with us again in January. Due to his busy schedule, its not always easy to get him for these talks, so don’t miss it. We’ll send you the date in the next newsletter.
FREE MEDITATION FOR PEACE GROUP MEDITATION FOR SELF-HEALING
Meditation for Peace
and Healing of the Earth
Monday, January 17th
7:00 p.m. sharp to 8:00 p.m. Please remember that Maria Robinson conducts a FREE Meditation for Peace on the third Monday of each month at the Center for Inner Healing. As Maria always says, “If you want peace in the world, first you have to be peace”. There’s no better way to be peace than to meditate with that intent fixed in your mind and that’s exactly what Maria’s intention is when leading the meditation.
EFT TAPPING GROUP -- Borrowing Benefits
Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each Month Next dates: December 22nd and January 12th
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Cost: $25. for each session or 5 Sessions for $100. (a savings of $25!) Each week, we focus on a primary issue for the group such as stress, grief, anger, fears, etc. as it relates to each member. However, every member of the group will also get a chance to address whatever is bothering them at that time.
During these two hours, we work on one person's issues at a time while the group simultaneously taps on the same issues as it relates to them. This method works well for every member of the group since each of us has similar issues beneath the surface of what we think is bothering us. By tapping with the other person, your issues actually reduce as well - almost without trying.
CALLING ALL WRITERS If you have something of interest that you have written and you’d like to have us include it either in our newsletter or on our website, please send us a submission and we’ll review it with a view towards including it on one or both.
