New Year's Non-Resolution...
Most people start the New Year off with a list of well-
intentioned resolutions that they want to accomplish
in the coming year. They may want to stop smoking,
drinking, start dieting, spend less money on frivolous
things or a host of other ideas. The truth is,
however, a week or two into the new year, they
often “fall off the wagon” and are back to their old
ways again. And they’re usually kicking themselves
as the year progresses until the next New Year’s
resolutions are made up again with great hopes and
expectations. And so it goes . . .
In actuality, we don’t change much - unless we have
good reasons to change. Sometimes it's health
considerations. Sometimes it's interpersonal
demands. But the fact is, we don’t change unless
and until we are actually ready and willing to
change. And most of us aren't ready or really willing
to change - until we are. How we get to that point
is what this is all about.
So, are we left to endure yet another year of
dissatisfaction and self-deprecation? Indeed, are we
destined to go through our entire lives without
making any meaningful changes in our lives? The
answer is a resounding NO . . . if you want to
change.
How does one want to change? Well, you might
think to yourself, “I’ll just change my mind,” but as
you probably already know from your past
experiences, that usually doesn’t work for very long.
That’s because it's only your conscious mind you’ve
changed and it's just not going to go the distance
and bring about permanent change. That’s because
most changes are made using will power, which is a
function of the conscious mind. So, the first thing to
understand is that its not your conscious mind that is
running the show you call your life.
It's actually your subconscious mind that is “driving
the bus” you call you. And that subconscious mind is
only about 3 years old - emotionally. It acts on
emotion because it is an emotional “being.” That’s
why we make so many emotional decisions in our
lives only to later consciously reconsider them and
often regret them. That’s because your conscious
mind is your “adult” mind, which contains your
reasoning power, ego, judgment and will power. By
the way, most of us use our will power to enforce
the changes we want to implement, only to discover
that it doesn’t work for very long. That’s because
the subconscious mind is what’s running the show, so
no matter how much we may consciously want to
change our behavior, our subconscious programing
rules. So, how do we get the subconscious mind to
change, you ask? Here are a couple of answers.
One way is to use hypnosis. It’s a classic approach
to making direct suggestions to the subconscious
mind to make various changes in your life. You see,
the subconscious mind has formed certain beliefs
about life based upon its earliest experiences. It
holds onto those beliefs very strongly and no matter
what kind of conscious rational reasons are given to
it, the subconscious mind will cling to its original
beliefs until they are changed. Hypnosis can be used
to offer direct suggestions to the subconscious to
change or other healing methods can be used to
impart the message to it. Hypnosis works. There’s
no doubt about it, but it usually works best when it's
used in conjunction with healing techniques that
actually change how the subconscious views certain
situations. Hypnosis also usually takes going to a
hypnotist who can either teach you how to enter a
self-hypnosis state or who will directly hypnotize you
and then either work with you doing healing work or
give you the suggestions you need to make changes
in your life on a subconscious level.
Another method is to use Emotional Freedom
Technique which is an acupressure method that
changes your energy body to eliminate negative
beliefs, negative emotions and pain. Once you learn
this technique, it is a self implemented method that
can quite literally change your subconscious mind on
an energetic level which is the most basic way to do
it. EFT is one of the most profound methods of
changing your mind on an energetic and
subconscious level simultaneously. You can find out
more about EFT by clicking here.
If you want to achieve your New Year’s resolutions
this year and make your life into the masterpiece you
deserve, you now have two effective methods at
your fingertips that will help you implement
everything you want in your life. Now you can make
a list of your New Year’s resolutions and actually
change your life this year.

Blessings to you this Holy Season of Light,
This day, we recognize that all of mankind is filled
with the Holy Spirit of light, love, joy and peace of
God, which transcends all understanding.
May we all live from our hearts and walk the way of
Moses, Abraham , Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed,
Krishna, and the Great White Spirit.
May this year be a new beginning for all, a birthing of
ourselves into remembering the only truth we need to
know, "that we are light and only love at our core."
May all connect to the light of God within and see
that same light of God’s presence in all
beings.
May we release all our pain, fears, negative thoughts
and emotions that keep us imprisoned in the pain of
the illusion of our mind. May anger, judgement and
blame be replaced with forgiveness, understanding
and compassion.
May we begin each day connecting to God, the great
Source of Love and life. May we surrender our plan
and our will and bring ourselves into alignment with
God’s plan and His will so that our lives will be
divinely directed while we are here on earth. May we
connect to the host of Angels waiting for us to say
Yes, allowing them to guide, direct, surround and
protect us at all times.
May we release all our attachments to outcomes and
to things. May we turn our fears into faith, knowing
everything is perfect as it is now.
May we all dare to live the greatness we are meant
to be and follow our dreams no matter what others
may think of them. May we release our feelings of
lack and victim-hood from our lives and claim our
abundance in all areas so that we may have more to
share with others.
May we all see and recognize the gifts we are given,
in all the challenges we encounter, whether they
manifest physically, emotionally, mentally or
spiritually.
We give thanks from the bottom of our hearts for
having crossed paths with you this past
year.
We are truly enriched by your presence.

Orange Rosemary Chicken
Ingredients:
1 whole chicken, about 4 lbs.
2 oranges, thinly sliced
1/4 cup orange juice
fresh rosemary leaves
ground black pepper
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Rinse chicken and pat dry. In large deep oven-proof
dish, lay the slices from one orange in the bottom of
the dish. Pour the orange juice on top. Season
chicken with black pepper. Pull the leaves off 4-6
stems of rosemary and sprinkle them generously all
over and inside the chicken. Lay the chicken on top
of the orange slices in the prepared dish. Lay the
remaining orange slices on top of chicken. Cook
proximately 1 hour. Keep basting the chicken with
the juice every 10 minutes or so to keep it
moistened. Check for doneness - when I can twist a
drumstick off easily then I know it is fully cooked.
Golden Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
2-3 pounds of Yukon Gold potatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt or kelp
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/3-1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter
Wash and peel all the potatoes. Cut them into
quarters. Put them in a large pot and pour enough
water to cover the potatoes. Cook over medium
flame until done, approximately 30 minutes. Drain,
reserve the water to adjust consistency. Place the
potatoes into an electric mixing bowl. Add butter and
milk and whip to desired consistency. If you want a
thinner consistency, add milk or the potato water.
Season with salt and pepper.
Danish Prunes and Apples Side Dish
Ingredients:
3 large green apples
1 1/2 cups prunes
1/4-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup apple cider
Peel, quarter and slice apples. Add all ingredients to
a pot and cook over low heat approximately 15
minutes or desired doneness. This dish can also be
used as a stuffing for poultry.
Perfect Peas
1 pound bag of frozen peas
Freshly chopped parsley
Boil water in a pot. Add peas quickly and bring to boil
quickly 1-2 minutes. Pour into strainer immediately
and serve. Sprinkle as much parsley on top as you
like. To keep the freshness, crispness and nutrient
value of peas, keep cooking time to a minimum. If
you are cooking a smaller amount of peas, instead of
adding the peas to the boiling water, pour the water
over the peas and a deep dish and let sit a few
minutes with a cover and then strain.
