Miso Soup
Miso Soup

Miso soup, with whole-grain bread and a salad is a complete meal that can be made with left-over ingredients. A wonderful fall afternoon meal.

Serves 4

Ingredients:
4 cups water
1 tablespoon crushed dulse seaweed
1 large carrot, cut into 1/4'' pieces
1 cup brown rice
1 cup cooked chickpeas
½-1 cup green peas
3 tablespoons red miso paste

Bring 3 cups of water to boil with dulse seaweed and carrot slices. Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add brown rice, chick peas, and peas to broth. Remove from heat and set broth aside.

In a tea kettle, bring 1 cup water to boil. In a separate bowl, whisk 3 tablespoons miso paste into water. Add miso mix to broth and stir. Serve with whole-grain bread and salad for a complete meal.

ButterflyOnce there was a man who asked God for a flower and a butterfly. Instead, God gave him a cactus and a caterpillar.

The man was sad, he didn't understand why his request was mistaken. Then he thought,

"Oh well, God has too many people to care for," and decided not to question.

After some time, the man went to check up on his request that he had left forgotten. To his surprise, from the thorny and ugly cactus a beautiful flower had grown, and the unsightly caterpillar had been transformed into the most beautiful butterfly.

God always does things right.

His way is ALWAYS the best way, even if to us it always seems wrong.

If you ask God for one thing and received another, TRUST.

You can be sure that HE will always give you what you need at the appropriate time.

What you want is not always what you need!

God never fails to grant our petitions, so keep on going for Him without doubting or murmuring.

Today's THORN is tomorrow's FLOWER!

GOD GIVES THE VERY BEST TO THOSE WHO LEAVE THE CHOICES UP TO HIM!

Tapping to Tunes

Tapping to TunesI realized recently that certain songs have different effects upon me as I listen to them. Some are older songs that bring back memories of good times and some have the effect of bringing back bad memories of breakups and difficult times. Some just make me feel sad for some unknown reason. Music has a way of connecting with deeper feelings than we consciously realize and it's a great way in to the deeper recesses of the mind.

It dawned on me that there was a great opportunity to use EFT on all those tunes that brought back bad memories and eliminate the negative feelings attached to them on the spot. So I started to use every tune that came on the radio that brought up negative emotions as a "tapping opportunity". I found that this was an especially effective use of my time when stuck in traffic where there is little else to do but listen to the radio and watch the back of the car in front of me.

The thing to do is allow the words and music in the song (usually country songs are the best for this because they're usually the biggest "tear-jerkers", but Luther Vandrose sure comes in a close second with "Dance with my Father Again") to wash over you as I allow the feelings in me to arise. As you do this, your Set-Up can sound something like -

"Even though this song makes me want to cry, I love and accept myself fully and completely."

Repeat it a few times as you tap on the side of your hand (KC).

Then, simply tap on all the various meridian access points as you listen to the song. Only use one hand to tap for safety reasons. The feelings are already "up" and by tapping as the song reinforces your feelings, you'll getting the desired effect. Do this throughout the song and when it ends you can continue to tap until the feelings are completely resolved. You don't have to go into any of the issues that may have given rise to the feelings and tears. You can just stay with the feelings as they exist. Remember, you have to "feel it to heal it" and if the feelings end with the song, then you can stop tapping as well. There will always be another song with a similar message along before you know it. When the next "tear jerker" comes on, notice if your feelings are any different. If they are lessened or you don't have any tears coming up for you, that's how you'll know that the tapping has worked for you. After awhile you'll notice that you barely will notice this type of song any longer because it won't affect you.

This is a great way to get some negative feelings taken care of in little or no time at all, especially while you're stuck in traffic. If you don't feel comfortable tapping in traffic (of course, remember, you only use one hand to tap while you drive with the other hand) you can always pull over and get the tapping done and then go back to driving. Any you'll feel refreshed as well. In any event, this is a great way to not only make better use of your time, but also to get some emotions that you might not otherwise notice taken care of in short order.

Happy tapping.
